Initial project situation

As a CPO & MO, BayWa Mobility Solutions GmbH would like to offer EV drivers who use the BayWa charging stations at the company’s location in Munich a safe, convenient, and easy way to charge their electric vehicles. With the help of the Plug&Charge technology, which is based on the ISO standard 15118, this is possible. As Christian Krüger, Managing Director of BayWa Mobility Solutions GmbH, explains, “the integration of the charging card function in the vehicle is trend-setting (…) (and) contributes to making e-mobility even more popular”.

With the pilot project, BayWa as a charging card provider would like to accompany the process from the very beginning and help drive the development of electric mobility in Germany forward.

Our approach

Hubject Consulting, as part of Hubject GmbH, which operates the world’s first live Plug&Charge ecosystem, supported the client in the design and quality assurance of a Plug&Charge Proof of Concept based on ISO-15118. With our project management experience, we guaranteed successful stakeholder management, which is crucial in Plug&Charge projects due to the complexity of the ecosystem. Hubject Consulting also integrated the client into the Hubject Plug&Charge ecosystem and provided contract certificates.

The result

Following the successful implementation of the pilot concept, BayWa Mobility Solutions GmbH is now in a position to offer simple, safe, and convenient charging at selected charging points thanks to Plug&Charge technology. In addition, the charging point backends were connected to the Hubject ecosystem. An onsite End2End testing incl. documentation is also part of the project result.

Based on this successful cooperation, BayWa Mobility Solutions GmbH is thus able to offer its customers an excellent customer journey and significantly advance electric mobility in Germany.
